Mold Food Festival returns this weekend | The Leader

Mold Food Festival is returning this weekend with over 100 food and drink exhibitors including their sponsor Penderyn Distillery.  

The festival is returning following a two year hiatus throughout the Covid-19 pandemic with a focus on supporting local businesses and chefs.

The festival, (Saturday September 17 and Saturday September 18) draws in thousands of visitors from across North Wales and beyond. 

So if you are planning on visiting here is everything you need to know.

Location: The festival takes place at Mold's New Street Car Park.

Time: The festival runs from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. The outdoor food court remains open until 7.45pm on Saturday, with live music on the stage.

Entry Charges: Admission at the gate is £6 for adults (16+), £1 for children (4-15, under 4s free). Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Cookery Theatre schedule: There are numerous live cooking performances throughout the festival. 

The cookery theatre takes place from 10.30am to 4.30pm with 45-minute demonstrations running throughout the Saturday in the order of; Graham Tinsley from the Carden Park Hotel, Prai Rogers from The Sushi Box in Mold, Cegin Cribi of Geoff Miller Jamaican Jerk Chicken and Pork, Yulia Voronkova from the Ukranian Pop-up Food. 

Then on Sunday live cookery theatre will run from 11.20am until 4.35pm with Nick Rudge from Jackdaw Conwy, Gemma Williams from The Little Cheesemonger and Shane Mellor from Great British Bakehouse Bread Making. 

Live Music schedule: Musicians will grace the stages from 10am-7pm on Saturday for one hour performances from; Mold Concert Band, Northop Sunday Band, Mountain Harmoney, Megan Lee, Scott Royle, Dominique Atkins, Isaac Birchall, H.U.M.A.N, Lies and Lukeband. 

Then on Sunday live music will run from 11am to 4pm with Deeside Choir, Tom Collins, Contraband, Holylwood Eyes, The New Kid, Fletch and Six Ton Dog.

Parking: As the festival is held on New Street Car Park it will not be possible to park here. Other car parks in Mold include; Griffiths Square, CH7 1DJ - £1 For up to three hours, £1.50 all day. Love Lane, CH7 1GP £1 All Day.

Short-stay parking costing £1 for three hours can be found at  King Street, CH7 1LB - 1, Meadow Place, CH7 1DT , Grosvenor Street, CH7 1EJ. 

All parking charges are in place between 8am-5pm on Saturday and will be free of charge on Sunday. 

As parking is expected to be extremely busy throughout the festival a free shuttle service is being provided from various sites in Mold. 

Saturday, September 17, Buses 1 & 2. Bus 1: 09:15 – 17:00 to operate continuous Free Shuttle Service between Mold County Hall and Mold Bus Station

Bus 2: 09:45 – 17:45 to operate continuous Free Shuttle Service between Mold County Hall and Mold Bus Station.

Sunday, September 18, Bus 1: 09:30 – 17:30 to operate continuous Free Shuttle Service between Mold County Hall and Mold Bus Station

10:00 – 17:45 to operate continuous Free Shuttle Service between Mold County Hall and Mold Bus Station Last Bus leaving Mold Bus Station at 17:40.

The county hall pick up point is at the bus stop near the law courts. For those parking on the tiers at County hall it will be free over the weekend, however those parking at the main entrance car park at county hall or the multi-storey car park at Theatr Clwyd there will be a fee on Saturday. 

Dogs are not allowed on the site with the exception of assistance dogs. 

A minute’s silence will be held on both days before the start of live music performances as a mark of respect for the late Queen Elizabeth II in addition to a book of condolence available.
